Barnebys offers a search service with 600,000+ items for sale, an extensive database of auction results, and a white-label auction system. While these services are core to Barnebys, this role is focused on the platform that powers our highly valuable Traffic business. Built with technologies like React, NextJS, TypeScript, Python, PHP, Kubernetes, and MySQL, this platform ensures scalability and reliability.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of this platform, driving innovation and improvements as we continue to grow and expand our capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Build and Optimize: Develop and improve scalable backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces with tools like FastAPI, Flask, NodeJS, Symfony, React/NextJS, and databases such as MySQL, BigQuery, Redis, and MongoDB.
• DevOps Practices: Deploy and manage solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• User-Centered Design: Enhance frontend experiences using React, NextJS, SASS, and TailwindCSS.
• Scalable Architectures: Design event-driven systems with tools like LavinMQ, RabbitMQ, and Azure Service Bus.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work with product owners, designers, and developers to deliver impactful, business-aligned solutions.

Who You Are

We believe you have at least 4 years of hands-on experience as a developer, with expertise in several of the following areas:

• Frontend Development: You’re skilled with React, NextJS, and modern CSS tools like SASS or TailwindCSS.
• Backend and APIs: You have strong knowledge of NodeJS, Python, or frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Express, or Symfony.
• Databases: You work confidently with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and data tools like BigQuery.
• DevOps and Cloud: You’re familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Event-Driven Systems: You understand queue systems such as LavinMQ, Service Bus, or RabbitMQ
• Agile Practices: You are comfortable working in an Agile or Scrum team, delivering iteratively.

Bonus: Mobile app development, Google Analytics, SEO, Google Tag Manager, Unix, and CI/CD pipelines.
